The Breast Research Group reflects the essential multidisciplinary nature of the research in this area, with the application of engineering principles and techniques to the breast research field. It combines the design and problem solving skills of engineering with medical science to help improve patient health care and the quality of life of individuals.

The Breast Research Group results from a joint collaboration between INESC Porto and Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade do Porto.
